Serious paranormal researchers — like me — are always looking for fresh and quirky ways to explore the subject of ghosts and haunted places.
This book certainly fits that description. British author Cassandra Eason put considerable thought into this book. Page by page, this book weaves alternative views of ghosts and paranormal encounters.
I’m glad that I read it, because it provides some startling and different concepts to think about.
However, the book’s terminology does not always match what we’re accustomed to, in mainstream ghost research. At times, that made it feel like I was reading a textbook. I had to pause regularly to figure out what she was talking about, and frame it in more familiar terms.
In addition, the writing style can be a little murky at times. It’s as if it was rushed to print before the author — or perhaps the editor — had time to reorganize it into a compelling volume.
I’d like to read more by this author, or see this book revised for a broader audience.
Are you approaching ghosthunting from a Pagan or New Age viewpoint? If so, you may enjoy Eason’s unusual concepts more than most readers.
Traditionalists are less likely to enjoy Eason’s ideas.
At the time of this review, new copies are not available in the U.S., but you can find a used copy for a couple of dollars or less. At that price, this book is worth reading if you are actively involved in ghost research.
