True Tales of Ghostly Encounters

true-tales-ghostly-encountersTrue Tales of Ghostly Encounters edited by Andrew Honigan, is a great book for anyone with a brief amount of time to read, a short attention span, or a thirst for true ghost stories that confirm the afterlife.

This book is a collection of the best true, first-hand reports of ghosts, from the pages of FATE magazine.

Most of the stories are very brief, a page or two at the most. They also cover a wide range of topics related to ghosts of all kinds.

The chapters include:

  • Messages
  • Apparitions
  • Warnings
  • Unfinished business
  • Children and ghosts
  • Visions
  • Long Ago
  • Companions – Cases of animal survival (ghosts)
  • Blessings and “gifts from the departed”

I really enjoyed the stories in this book.  They’re not especially scary… just enough for a slight chill.

These are high quality stories, and many of them have a strong element of truth.

I especially like the unusual stories about pets returning from “the other side” to remain with their owners and comfort them.

The accounts of blessings and gifts from the departed are equally heartwarming, and a great conclusion to a well-chosen collection of tales.

This is an ideal book to read at the beach or by the pool.  (Buy a used copy at Amazon.com, linked below, and you won’t have to worry about sand and salt water on your pages.) Or, if you like a quick, slightly eerie read before turning the light out at night, True Tales of Ghostly Encounters is a good choice.
